<itunes:summary>We are a community of believers in Jesus. Our worship style is contemporary, our dress is casual and we have a great desire to equip people to reach their full potential, so our teaching is always relevant.

We value families and youth, so we provide a children’s program for primary school aged children during each morning service, commencing at 8:30am and 10:15am.

Nursery and toddlers’ facilities are also available during each morning service, and our evening service at 6:30pm has a strong youth focus.

Our Bible College on campus, Northreach Bible College is closely associated with CALAM Training, providing training for rural, remote and regional ministry.

If you are new to our church, have a look around and get to know us. We are a welcoming church of more than 500 people who are keen on connecting with members of the wider community of Townsville and beyond. We are happy to assist you in anyway we can.

In 2010 we changed our name from Townsville District Baptist Church to Northreach. We believe this name reflects the purpose and future direction of our church, to reach the people in rural, remote and regional areas of North Queensland with the good news of Jesus Christ.

There are a number of ways you can discover who we are. Our website will help you explore more about who we are and what we’re doing. You are invited to join us in any of our activities, including our services this Sunday. Our small groups meet in people’s homes around the city during the week.</itunes:summary>

He outlined how the Bible helps to train us. Though we need to be able to distinguish right from wrong in the little things as well as the big things.

At this part in Hebrews the writer is worried about what the essential content is. The subtle temptation that new believers may have once they come into a relationship to shift their focus from Christ.

The question today is Are you moving forward in your relationship with Christ? Where is the emphasis in your day or do people notice something different about you when your at school or work? Are you going forward or are you falling?

When the writer of Hebrews in writing in this book he’s writing because the door is still open for people who are drifting away to see what the outcome is. He’s offering them the chance to come back and recommit to all that God has for us.

Youth and Young Adults Pastor Christian Aguillera kicked off a series looking at Chronicles.

What is known about Chronicles is it was written around 4BC – before Jesus came at a time when there wasn’t really much going on.

The purpose which comes across from reading Chronicles is encouragement for those who had faith in God. In a sense it was written to build up the disconnected people.

1 Chronicles 1-9 shows a history that provides Hope and Courage. An example of the hope and courage is found in 1 Chronicles 5:24-26.

“These were the heads of their families: Epher, Ishi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremiah, Hodaviah and Jahdiel. They were brave warriors, famous men, and heads of their families. But they were unfaithful to the God of their ancestors and prostituted themselves to the gods of the peoples of the land, whom God had destroyed before them. So the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria (that is, Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria), who took the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh into exile. He took them to Halah, Habor, Hara and the river of Gozan, where they are to this day.” ~ 1 Chronicles 5:24-26.

“David also said to Solomon his son, “Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God, is with you.” ~ 1 Chronicles 28:20.

<itunes:summary>Youth and Young Adults Pastor Christian Aguillera kicked off a series looking at Chronicles.

What is known about Chronicles is it was written around 4BC - before Jesus came at a time when there wasn't really much going on.

"These were the heads of their families: Epher, Ishi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremiah, Hodaviah and Jahdiel. He took them to Halah, Habor, Hara and the river of Gozan, where they are to this day." ~ 1 Chronicles 5:24-26.

"David also said to Solomon his son, “Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God, is with you." ~ 1 Chronicles 28:20.

Let's embrace God's history and be proud of it. His history is our hope of a brighter future in his kingdom. We have a God who will give us Hope and Courage as we forge our future.</itunes:summary>

In the passage we see the word “atonement” which basically means to become one or to become united.

“For this reason he had to be made like them, fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people.” ~ Hebrews 2:17

The writer in Hebrews 2 also warns those that may be drifting away in their faith. The passage reminds the people about all that they have by being a part of God’s family. Jesus was sent for this, to share in our “humanity.” (v14)

“He too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death… and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.” ~ Hebrews 2:14-15
